About Us

“Over the course of an eighty-year lifetime, an average tree sequesters approximately 200 kg of CO2, which contributes to diminishing our impact on climate change. One tree produces enough oxygen per day for four people to breathe”. (Tree Canada)

Urban Forest Green Spaces is a grassroots, non-profit volunteer organization which includes community partners, community members and donors.

Our overall goal is to foster a healthy urban forest and green space supporting native plants and wildlife and recreational enjoyment of nature.

All projects are in Champlain Park (Westboro, Ottawa) on one of the identified Project sites:

  1. Little Woods
  2. Champlain Woods
  3. Northwestern Park
  4. Premier Avenue Roadside
  5. The Park

Our organizational partners are the City of Ottawa, National Capital Commission (NCC), Champlain Park Community Association (CPCA) and Neighbourwoods

If you would be interested in volunteering or initiating any projects please contact us at: ChamplainPark@gmail.com

We hold meetings as and when needed, promote Workshops, Educational activities and Related events to help support these initiatives
